American Saints

We have the feasts of St Elizabeth Seton and St. John Neumann this Tuesday and Wednesday. Elizabeth was a convert to the faith after the death of her husband and suffered greatly for her faith. Mother Seton founded the first Catholic School in the United States. She founded the first group of religious sisters in the US (Sisters of Charity) and she was the first American-born saint.

St. John Neumann came from what is now the Czech Republic with a talent for languages and leadership. He joined the Redemptorists Order but soon made the Bishop of Philadelphia. His holiness led him to care for the new religious orders and build Catholic Schools.

Thank You for Your Donations

We are ever so grateful to each one of you for all your generosity over the past year. Your generosity is one of the traits of this parish and your love is shown clearly. A special thanks for the years of contributions for Campaign 60. You have paid off almost $300,000 in old loans, the new air conditioner and now the current loan. My special gratitude goes to the persons who donated stock to the parish. We recently sold the stock and received over $16,000 to put toward paying off the current loan. We look forward to such donations that are such a big help to your par-ish. My sincere thanks to these donors. May God bless everyone who helps the financial good of St. Thomas More Parish.

Epiphany Party on January 7

The famous Epiphany Party is back again in order to thank so many who have helped the parish this past year. We especially thank those who worked so hard at the Parish Reunion last summer. Their devotion to STM brought them here for many meetings, selling many raffle tickets, asking for many gifts and up all night at the Reunion it-self. We thank the ushers at Mass, the choirs, the Altar Boys, the sacristans, the Parish Council, the Finance Council and many others who have stepped up and helped when needed. So come one and all to the Party on Saturday, January 7 at 6:00 PM. There is no need to bring anything except yourself. Only please RSVP to the rectory.

Daily Tridentine 7:00 PM Mass during Advent

With the new priests at St. Thomas More we now can offer a Tridentine Mass at 7:00 PM each weekday of Advent, starting on November 28 until Christmas Eve. This is good opportunity for those who work late to attend the Holy Mass each day. Let us also use the time of prayer to pray for Cardinal George who sent the two young priests to our parish. We are looking for many other good things to offer you in the months ahead.

Anointing of the Sick

November 20, the feast of Our Lord the King, will be the day for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. The anointing will take place after the homily at each Sunday Mass. Please let others know  about this offering of the sacrament; invite all the sick and let us pray that God will send good weather so all the sick can come.
